SP Error: Could not overwrite an invalid or final document

SP Error: Could not overwrite an invalid or final document

Postby djohnson » Thu Jul 21, 2011 3:30 pm

I recently built my first inbound document interface, using FileDOCWORKSTrancription. I have turned off tasking as the physicians verify in the application the documents are created in, but my issue is any updates to the documents error out with the cannot overwrite and invalid or final document.I need the incoming documents to over write the existing document. I have gone through the specs several times and I know I am missing somthing, but its just not standing out to me. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

thanks

Debbie,

This is a setting that you can change - Allow Document Overwrite in v10 and Document Interface Validation Level. In either version, it's set on the Organization level.

In TWAdmin / TWSetup, go to the Organization setup screen. Change the value of the setting (Allow Document Overwrite for v10 to Yes/True) and you should be all set.

Thanks Mike,

I see the setting in TWAdmin, I have a choice High, Medium and Low. our current setting is

High, Strongest Validation
Document Overwrite protection-Documents in final state will not accept
any updates via interface.
No Patient Changes-changes to patient associated with document not
permitted via interface.
Standard Validation Applies-document types, owners, etc

Next Choice is Med:
Minimum Recommended Validation
No Patient Changes-changes to patient associated with document not
permitted via interface.
Document Overwrites permitted
Standard Validation Applies-document types, owners, etc

then Low:
WARNING: Special care MUST be taken that interface messages
for a given document are processed ONLY in their intended sequence.
Patient changes and overwrites permitted.

so based on the settings I am going to change to Med, to allow document Overwrites but no patient changes (unless you suggest otherwise)

Yes, I would go with that - Medium.

I can see where you gave an answer to fix this for V10 but the setup in V11 is much different and I do not see the setting mentioned in this post in the backend of v11. Do you have any suggestions on fixing this for V11?

This setting can be changed in V11 by going to TWAdmin>>Org Setup>>Internal Organization. Choose the organization in which you want to make this change and go to the 'Misc' section of the details pane. There is a setting called 'Document Interface Validation Level'. You will see the same High, Medium, Low settings in the drop down that are referenced earlier in this post.
